SHAFTSBURY — A 22-year-old man from New York was cited for excessive speeding in Shaftsbury today.
Police say they clocked a vehicle traveling 101 miles-per-hour in a posted 55 miles-per-hour speed limit zone while conducting speed enforcement on US Route 7 at around 3:10 p.m.
The driver was pulled over and issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for speeding.
Jin Qian, of Long Island City, NY, was issued a waiver penalty of $682.
Police say he was released with a citation to answer the charge at a later date and time.
