Man caught by police after 2 hour search in Lyndon

LYNDON — A 39-year-old man was arrested in Lyndon on Tuesday.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Berkley Lane at around 9:35 a.m.

Police say a vehicle driven by Sterling Heaton-Dendy fled the scene and was located at 290 Berkley Lane.

Following an investigation, police say that Dendy fled his vehicle on foot into the woods.

Officer Renaudette and Chief Jack Harris pursued Dendy into the woods.

After a two-hour search, Chief Harris apprehended Dendy on Grimes Road in St. Johnsbury.

Dendy was transported by EMS to NVRH to be treated for symptoms of hypothermia.

He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and criminal DLS.
