NORTHFIELD — Police say a 22-year-old woman was cited in Northfield last week after allegedly assaulting an EMS worker.

On December 11, authorities were notified that a woman was passed out on Central Street.

Northfield EMS went to the location and brought the woman, identified as Renee Herring, of Northfield, to Central Vermont Medical Center.

Police say they observed Herring to be on the ground outside the bay at CVMC.

Police say they spoke with EMS workers who said that Herring had been combative and kicked them inside the ambulance while on the way to the hospital.

She then tried to get out while at the hospital, falling onto one EMS worker.

She was issued a citation to appear in court on January 26.
