FERRISBURGH — A 19-year-old woman from Sheldon was seriously injured during a crash in Ferrisburgh yesterday.

The single-vehicle crash took place on Shellhouse Mountain Road at around 5:45 p.m.

The initial investigation indicates that a juvenile driver was headed south at a speed that was too fast for conditions, police say.

The vehicle lost traction on the gravel road, left the southbound lane, and hit a tree.

The passenger, identified as Tiauna Clark, was transported to UVM Medical Center by helicopter for serious injuries.

The driver was transported to Porter Medical Center and was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date.
