EAST WALLINGFORD — A 51-year-old man from Rutland was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in East Wallingford on Monday.

On July 11, authorities say they were notified of an alarm for a burglary at the Jiffy Mart at around 2:35 a.m.

Police allege that Dean Hugerth made forced entry into the building before leaving the store with thousands of dollars in merchandise.

Hugerth was also found to be violating court-issued conditions of release of a curfew at his residence.

He was located this week and was taken into custody.

Hugerth was transported to the Rutland State Police barracks before being lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.
