Man arrested for domestic assault, animal cruelty in Montpelier

MONTPELIER — A 39-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Montpelier last Saturday.

Authorities say they were notified of an assault that occurred between domestic partners on Towne Hill Road at around 7:15 p.m.

According to the report, the involved party had assaulted the victim in the presence of their children, smashed the victim’s mobile phone when they attempted to call for help, and intentionally injured the family dog.

Following an investigation, police allege that Thomas Foulke, of Montpelier, had committed these crimes.

He is charged with domestic assault, offense committed within the presence of a child, interference with access to emergency services, unlawful mischief, and cruelty to animals.
