Police were contacted by school staff who informed them they received a report of an alleged threat made to the school by a student.

“The state police takes all reports of school threats seriously and initiated a response that involved coordinating with school officials and community resources, and identifying and speaking to the parties involved,” Trooper Alford said in a statement.

As a result of the investigation, the school decided to cancel classes today.

The school plans to modify operations Wednesday, June 1.

Authorities say parents and community members can expect to see an increased police presence at the school tomorrow.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing, police say.

Because of the age of the individual involved in this matter, no further information is available from the state police.
