DUI after vehicle rolls into police cruiser during stop

RUTLAND — A 26-year-old woman from Brandon was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Rutland yesterday.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop for an observed violation on US 7 at around 8:50 p.m.

During the stop, police say that the vehicle rolled backward on a hill and crashed into the front of the State Police cruiser that was on the traffic stop.

The driver was identified as Raven Blanchard.

Police say Blanchard showed signs of impairment and was screened for DUI.

She was arrested and brought to the Rutland barracks for DUI drug processing.

Her license was also found to be criminally suspended in the state of Vermont.

Blanchard was issued a criminal citation to appear in court for the charges of DUI Drug and DLS.
