Disturbance at Derby gas station leads to warrant arrest

DERBY — A 32-year-old woman from Canaan was arrested following an incident in Derby yesterday.

Authorities say they were dispatched to a noise disturbance at the Mobil gas station at around 1:55 p.m.

Following an investigation, police found there was an extraditable warrant for Rebecca Paquet.

Paquet was taken into custody and transported to the Derby State Police barracks for processing.

She was lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility as a fugitive from justice.

  1. Apparently unless you have an outstanding warrant in the state of Vermont now no one goes to jail. D u i 92 mph, possession and operation of a stolen vehicle all cited and released. I wonder how many people right now running around with warrants for failure to appear?? I thought it was just the local PD who was failing to do their jobs but it appears it’s more the lack of the courts willing to put anyone in jail these days.
