PUTNEY — A 44-year-old man from Massachusetts was arrested for DUI and negligent operation following an incident in Putney on Friday.
Authorities say they were notified of multiple reports of a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on I-91 at around 10:50 p.m.
Police located and stopped the vehicle at mile-marker 19.
Police allege the driver, identified as William Nutter, of Shirley MA, showed multiple signs of impairment.
He was placed under arrest for negligent operation and suspicion of DUI.
Nutter was released to Southern State Correctional Facility and was held till sober.
He was given a citation to appear in court on March 22.
