Northfield man arrested on warrants, heroin in Montpelier

MONTPELIER — A 37-year-old man from Northfield was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Montpelier on Monday.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop on Bailey Avenue at High School Drive at around 6:55 p.m.

Indicators of illicit drug use were observed within the vehicle, police say, and a consent search was conducted.

Police say they located a significant amount of heroin and related paraphernalia.

The driver’s license was criminally suspended as well, and they had several arrest warrants for previous criminal offenses.

The suspect was taken into custody on their arrest warrants and lodged at a correctional facility, but at this time police have not yet released his name, only that he was from Northfield.
