SOUTH HERO — A 31-year-old man from Milton was arrested for DUI following an incident in South Hero yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a vehicle parked on the shoulder of US Route 2 with the driver slumped over the wheel unresponsive at around 11:00 p.m.

The vehicle was still running, police say.

Police identified the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle as Dylan Martell.

Following an investigation, police say indicators of impairment were displayed and they found Martell to be under the influence of intoxicants.

He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and transported to the St. Albans barracks for processing.

Martell ultimately refused evidentiary testing and was released on a citation to appear in court on February 24 to answer for the charge of DUI refusal.

South Hero Fire and EMS both responded to assist.
