BARTON — A 36-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges following an incident that took place in Barton last month.

On December 24, authorities were notified of an ongoing physical altercation.

Police say they arrived on the scene to learn that Joseph Balcom, of Barton, had fled in a vehicle, driving without a valid license.

Balcom was located at a different home in Barton today, police say.

Police allege that Balcom had assaulted a family or household member during the incident in December.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Derby barracks for processing.

He was ordered held at the Northern State Correctional Facility until his court appearance on Tuesday.

Police say Balcom will face charges of domestic assault, violation of abuse prevention order, criminal DLS, and negligent operation.
