Man found unconscious behind the wheel in Orleans charged with DUI, possession

ORLEANS — A 42-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Orleans on Monday.

Police say they observed a man unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle parked with the engine running on Water Street at around 6:30 p.m.

Police approached the vehicle and identified the driver as James Baraw, of Orleans.

During the investigation, police say they observed and seized suspected drugs and paraphernalia located inside the vehicle as well as signs of impairment.

Baraw was then taken into custody and processed for DUI drugs and possession of regulated drugs.

He was later released on a citation.

Police say the suspected drugs were sent to the lab for confirmation testing.
