Man arrested for aggravated domestic assault, resisting arrest in Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN — A 74-year-old man was arrested following a fight in Williamstown on Sunday.

Authorities say they were notified of a domestic disturbance that occurred on Flint Street at around 10:30 p.m.

Following an investigation, police say that Raymond Smith Jr, of Williamstown, threatened to use a deadly weapon on a family member.

Smith Jr. also resisted arrest when troopers attempted to take him into custody.

He was taken into custody and later released with court-ordered conditions.

He was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date and time to answer to the charges of 1st degree aggravated domestic assault, and resisting arrest.
