Driver crashes into Middlesex restaurant

MIDDLESEX — A 77-year-old man from Randolph was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Middlesex yesterday.

Authorities were notified at around noon that a vehicle had crashed into the Filling Station Restaurant on US Route 2. 

The vehicle had been parked at the Red Hen when it accelerated quickly, crossing US Route 2 and crashing into the side of the Filling Station.

Police say it is unknown at this time why the vehicle accelerated and crashed. 

The operator of the vehicle, Nan Gwin, sustained minor injuries, and no other injuries were reported. 

Police say the Filling Station Restaurant sustained moderate damage to one wall and a door.
