Man arrested for domestic assault, assault on law enforcement in Sheffield

SHEFFIELD — A 43-year-old man from Massachusetts was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Sheffield on Sunday. 

Authorities say they were notified of a domestic disturbance at around 3:10 a.m.

Police were advised Gregory McMaster, of Springfield, MA, had bitten and punched a domestic partner while camping in a tent.

Upon arrival, police were able to locate McMaster in the tent. 

He attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. 

Police say he continued to resist the efforts of the troopers. 

According to the report, he assaulted a trooper with his bodily fluids. 

He was lodged on lack of $2,500 bail, and also on a $500 arrest warrant.

He is facing charges of domestic assault, assault on law enforcement/bodily fluids, and resisting arrest.
