Driver arrested after crashing into telephone pole in Belvidere Center

BELVIDERE — A 32-year-old woman from Lowell was arrested following an incident in Belvidere on Wednesday. 

Authorities were notified of an erratic driver on Routes 118 and 109 at around 5:55 p.m.

Police say when they were en route to the area, they were notified that the vehicle had collided with a telephone phone on Route 109 in Belvidere Center. 

The driver was identified as Elizabeth Minor. 

Police say she showed several indicators of impairment, and once she was medically cleared, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving with a criminally suspended license. 

The telephone pole was severed in half, and needed to be replaced. 

She was released with a citation to appear in court on August 18.
