DERBY — A Derby woman was involved in a single-vehicle crash caused by a bear on Monday.
The crash took place on Hinman Settler Road in Derby at around 9:30 p.m.
According to police, Lynn Pion had to swerve to miss a bear that wandered onto the road.
The bear caused Pion to travel off the road and hit a tree.
She was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, police say.
