Police: Slingshot used to break windows in Derby, Charleston

DERBY — Police are investigating a series of vandalism incidents that took place on Sunday.

Lauri Stonebreaker reported the front window of her home on Main Street in Derby was broken at around 2:00 p.m.

Investigation revealed the projectile that penetrated her window was a marble that was shot from a slingshot.

Approximately 30 minutes later, Desirae Fletcher called from her home on Vermont Route 105 in Charleston and reported the same thing.

Fletcher’s home was again targeted at around 4:30 p.m.

Police say nobody was injured during the incidents.

The vehicle used is suspected to be a dark-colored pick-up truck.

Anyone with information that could lead to the identity of the person responsible is being asked to contact the state Police in Derby.
