Man breaks into home in Derby, locks himself in bathroom

DERBY — A 38-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Derby yesterday.

Police were notified of a home invasion reported on Bushey Hill Road at around 10:35 p.m.

The caller reported that a man, later identified as Conrad Labor, of Coventry, entered their home and locked himself in their bathroom.

One of the parents gathered the family in an upstairs room while the other, armed with a firearm, detained Labor in the bathroom until police arrived.

Police say they gained entry into the bathroom and took Labor into custody.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

Police say Labor had stolen a vehicle in Coventry and drove to the home in Derby prior to the incident.

He was transported to the Derby barrack for processing.

He will face charges of felony unlawful trespass and operating without owner’s consent.
