JAY — Two motorcyclists were seriously injured during a crash in Jay this afternoon.

At around 3:15 p.m. police were notified of the crash on Vermont Route 105, just east of the Richford Town line.

Police say Charles Kilby, 63, of Newport Town, was traveling westbound when for some reason he went left of center.

His Chevrolet Tahoe sideswiped Loren Poirier, 56, of St. Albans. Poirier was traveling alongside Clark Lamson, 80, also of St. Albans.

The impact caused both motorcycles to crash.

Poirier and Lamson were transported to North Country Hospital by ambulance. Poirier was later transported by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

Police say Kilby was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
