BARTON — A 56-year-old man from Barton was arrested this morning after police say he called Circle K and threatened to shoot people.
James Marcy is being charged with criminal threatening, following the incident.
Police say the manager at the Circle K in Barton contacted them to report a threatening phone call made by Marcy, who they say is an employee.
“Marcy had stated that he was going to go to the store and shoot everyone,” a statement issued by Corporal Callie R. Field reads.
Marcy was arrested for criminal threatening and brought before a judge this afternoon.
He was released on conditions to stay away from the store and the employees.
Know what’s funny? He’s the assistant manager there…or was! And was previously my employer in Lyndonville. ????????
I am truly disappointed by this persons actions and the comments on this forum as to justifying his intent. Employees from the circle k have family’s to go home to at the end of their shift, and should not be concerned for their safety. I know that I would be devistated to find out that lives were lost because of a disgruntled employee who couldn’t figure out how to appropriately function at his place of employment. Each of us are faced with not so great encounters with our co-workers or just have a bad day… this by no means justifies a person to become threatening to others. So comments such as “he was just trying to take out the trash” are absolutely uncalled for… these are people that are contributing in society, people who have children to go home to, and other family members who would be affected by this man’s potential actions. Please be aware that the people who were involved in this matter do in fact see your comments, and their family members do as well. One can imagine how aweful it is to read such comments. This man may be a good person; however, his choice of action is by far anything but good.
You just never know when someone will flip out. They can become dangerous if they are unstable. Don’t ever approach someone that is disturbed, they may harm you as well as themselves.
