Orleans One Stop robbed at gunpoint

ORLEANS — An armed robbery took place at around the Orleans One Stop Monday night.

The incident took place at around 10:00 p.m. The suspect entered the store waving a handgun and demanded that the store clerk turn over the money from the cash register.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’6” with a slender to medium build and possibly in his early to mid-20s.

He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, mask, and blue jeans.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money the man fled the scene on foot.

Police say a 27-year-old woman from Derby was working at the store at the time of the robbery.

The investigation is being continued by the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and anyone with information is being asked to contact the Vermont State Police, Derby barracks at 802-334-8881.
