WESTBROOK — Westbrook Police Officers arrested a 35-year-old Portland man on drug trafficking charges following suspicious activity observed on Wednesday.

According to the Westbrook Police Department, officers patrolling the area of Main and Bridge Streets noticed a person wearing a full balaclava on an unseasonably warm spring day, engaging in what seemed to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction.

Upon further investigation, police arrested Nicolas Young and charged him with Unlawful Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs.

Young was also wanted on a Probation Revocation Arrest Warrant.

Following the arrest, Young was transported to the Cumberland County Jail where he is currently being held pending further proceedings.
