BEDFORD — A tow truck driver was hit this morning while assisting at a scene on the Everett Turnpike, according to New Hampshire State Police.

The incident occurred at 7:55 a.m. and resulted in the tow truck operator being transported to a local hospital with suspected minor injuries.

Authorities have not released the identity of the driver.

State police used the occasion to remind all motorists of the “move over” law, which requires drivers to shift lanes away from stationary emergency or maintenance vehicles showing blue, red, or amber flashing lights.

If unable to switch lanes due to traffic, drivers are advised to slow down and provide ample space to ensure the safety of roadside workers and first responders.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
