NEWPORT — The Community Commons meetings, which take place every third Wednesday each month, will be meeting tomorrow at the Gateway Center, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Remember when French was heard in every store in town? What about French music, and French food? This month the Community Commons meeting will be focusing on local French culture.
Everyone is invited to contribute to the discussion, and share memories and stories relating to the topic.
Some of the questions the discussion will be exploring are:
What about that culture has given us strength?
What can it teach us now as we are in the midst of change?
How can we re-own this important part of who we are, and celebrate it?
Community Commons meetings are a great way to take part in meaningful discussions that relate to the community. The meetings are open to everyone, and there is an optional potluck, so bring something and eat something.
