Newport man injured in crash on Darling Hill Road in Derby

DERBY — A 41-year-old Newport man was taken to the hospital last night after his car hit a rock ledge on Darling Hill Road.

Clinton Mihill, of Newport, was headed south in a 1987 Chevrolet truck, when he appeared to leave the road. Mihill hit a rock ledge head on.

Orleans County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of this single vehicle crash on Wednesday, at around 4:25 p.m. The accident took place near 323 Darling Hill Road.

Mihill was taken to North Country Hospital by Derby Line Ambulance. According to a release issued by police, he was treated for head injuries, but there has been no update as to his condition.

Police are reporting that he was not wearing his seat belt at the time. His truck sustained extensive damage, and is reported to have been totaled.
