IRASBURG — Members of the Irasburg planning commission welcome Irasburg residents to a public hearing on the adoption of a proposed town plan at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, at the Irasburg Town Hall.
“We’re looking for a good turnout,” said Planning Commission Chair Michael Sanville. “We’d like the opportunity to share our progress on Irasburg’s first-ever town plan, and we want to hear the views of as many Irasburg citizens as possible.”
At the April 28 hearing, the planning commission will also make public the results of a community-wide survey conducted in Irasburg during the month of March 2016.
“It’s extremely informative to read what people have to say about our town and our future,” said Planning Commission Clerk Judith Jackson. “Based on the survey results, we think we’re on the right track with writing the town plan, but we will be listening hard to what people tell us at next week’s hearing.”
Following the hearing, the planning commission can incorporate changes to reflect community input. Thirty days after the planning-commission hearing, the Irasburg selectboard will hold a second public hearing. If a majority of the selectboard votes to adopt the plan, it will become effective immediately.
Copies of the draft plan are available for review at the Irasburg Town Clerk’s Office and at the Leach Public Library.
