A resident of Merihew Road arrested following a one-car accident

FREETOWN — A resident of Merihew Road has been arrested following a one-car accident in the town of Freetown.

Melissa A. Warner, 47, was charged with driving while intoxicated and several infractions, including driving across hazard markings, speed not reasonable and prudent, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and unauthorized stickers.

At approximately 3:16 a.m. on April 6, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on McGraw Marathon Road.

Authorities determined Warner drove off the roadway while intoxicated before fleeing the scene.

She was arrested and taken to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on appearance tickets.

Warner is set to appear for arraignment in the Town of Freetown Court on April 23 at 5:30 p.m. and in the Town of Marathon Court on May 8 at 6:00 p.m.
