WATERBURY — A 20-year-old Connecticut man was arrested on gun charges Saturday after police conducted a special patrol in response to community complaints about narcotics and trespassing.
Nasir Jones of Waterbury was taken into custody on April 5 after officers observed him engaging in suspicious activity near the intersection of Willow Street and Ridgewood Street, according to police.
Officers found Jones in possession of a Taurus G2s 9mm firearm without a Connecticut pistol permit, police said.
Jones was charged with illegal sale/transfer of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a permit.
The investigation was conducted by the Waterbury Police Department’s Traffic Services Unit following citizen complaints about narcotics activity, trespassing and other quality-of-life concerns in the area of 174 Willow Street.
