Police seek suspect in Stop and Shop theft in Southbury

SOUTHBURY — Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole more than $600 worth of merchandise from a local grocery store Wednesday evening.

The Southbury Police Department responded to Stop and Shop at 100 Main Street North at approximately 8:25 p.m. on April 2 for a reported larceny in progress.

According to police, a male believed to be in his late 30s with a gray goatee entered the store and stole approximately $603.88 worth of merchandise.

The suspect was described as wearing a black baseball hat with a white triangle logo, a dark blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and green crocs.

Police said the man fled the scene in a gray Lincoln sedan and was last seen entering the exit 15 ramp heading eastbound.
