RUTLAND TOWN — Two individuals were arrested on felony cocaine possession charges following a disturbance call on Quarterline Road Monday evening.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to a residence at approximately 7:37 p.m. on April 7 after receiving reports of a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers located Eric Stephens, 59, of Rutland, and Misty Martelle, 39, described as a Rutland transient, inside a vehicle in the driveway.
Troopers observed suspected cocaine in plain view while speaking with the vehicle’s occupants.
The investigation determined there was no assault at the residence, but both individuals were taken into custody for cocaine possession.
The vehicle was seized and a search warrant was obtained and executed, resulting in the discovery of cocaine inside the vehicle.
Martelle was issued a criminal citation for felony cocaine possession and released.
Stephens faces additional charges of violation of conditions of release and as a habitual offender after investigation revealed he was under court-ordered conditions not to possess regulated drugs.
Stephens was lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.
