Bristol man arrested for DUI, suspended license, warrant in Williston

WILLISTON — A Bristol man was arrested late Saturday night after a traffic stop revealed he was driving with a suspended license and had an active warrant for his arrest.

At approximately 11:57 p.m. on April 5, a Vermont State Trooper stopped a vehicle for a moving violation near the intersection of VT Route 2A and Hurricane Lane in Williston.

The driver was identified as Ryan Lamothe, 45, of Bristol.

During the interaction, troopers observed several indicators of impairment, according to police.

Further investigation revealed Lamothe was operating the vehicle with a criminally suspended license and had an active warrant in Addison County for failing to appear on a previous suspended license charge.

Lamothe was arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving with a suspended license, and for the active warrant.

He was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.

After processing, Lamothe was released with a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on April 24 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to charges of DUI – criminal refusal and operating with a criminally suspended license.

Per court order, Lamothe was also issued a cite and release warrant to appear in Addison County court on April 7 at 12:30 p.m. for the previous warrant.
