CORTLANDVILLE — A Homer woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing merchandise from a Walmart store where she had previously been banned.

Kimberly A. Burk, 41, of Prospect Street in Homer, was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded to the Walmart at 819 Bennie Road at 2:10 p.m. for a larceny complaint.

Investigators determined Burk had stolen merchandise from the store despite having previously been served with a no-trespass order from all Walmart properties.

Burk was processed at the Sheriff’s Office and arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8 p.m.

She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court on April 14 at 11 a.m.
