EPPING — A Manchester woman and her passenger were injured following a rollover crash on Route 101 Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 2:32 p.m., State Troopers from the Troop A barracks responded to a crash on Route 101 East near the Martin Road overpass, between Exits 6 and 7.

Troopers provided aid to the injured occupants and closed the right travel lane with assistance from Epping Police Department officers.

The preliminary investigation determined that a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Olivia C. Travers, 19, of Manchester, was traveling eastbound at a reportedly high rate of speed when Travers swerved onto the left shoulder to avoid another motorist.

Travers then swerved right, crossing both eastbound lanes before going off the highway’s right side.

The Volkswagen overturned and came to rest on its roof in a wooded area adjacent to the highway.

Travers was transported to an area hospital with moderate but non-life-threatening injuries.

Her passenger, Luis D. Colon Jr., 19, of Manchester, was transported to an area hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.

Members of the New Hampshire State Police Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit responded to assist with documentation of the scene due to the crash’s severity.

Traffic was impacted for approximately two and a half hours while Troopers investigated and emergency personnel removed the vehicle and debris.

Troopers were assisted by members of the Epping Police Department, Epping Fire Department, Brentwood Fire & Rescue, Raymond Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

All aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
