Poultney man arrested for domestic assault in front of child

POULTNEY — A local man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly causing serious bodily injury to a household member while a child was present.

At approximately 8:55 p.m. on March 12, Vermont State Police troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Poultney.

Following an investigation, authorities determined that Jason Seiple, 38, of Poultney, had willfully caused serious bodily injury to a family or household member.

Seiple was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

He was charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault and committing an offense in the presence of a child.

After processing, Seiple was transported to Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility where he is being held without bail.

The Vermont State Police did not release the name of the victim, in accordance with their policy regarding victims of domestic assault.
