BOURNE — Officers with the Bourne Police Department responded to a residence on Andrew Road on the night of Feb. 24 after a report of a one-year-old boy suffering from a burn.
Police were dispatched at approximately 7:42 p.m. to assist the Bourne Fire Department.
Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found the child inside the residence and began providing medical aid.
Boston MedFlight transported the victim to a regional trauma center for further treatment.
A preliminary investigation determined the burn was most likely caused by a faulty hot water heater.
The child’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police and the Town of Bourne Plumbing Inspector continue to investigate the incident.
