Oneonta man arrested on warrant after vehicle incident in Delhi

DELHI — A Oneonta man was arrested on an active warrant following a vehicle incident in the Town of Colchester, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

Sheriff Craig S. DuMond said Daquan M. Brown, 32, was taken into custody on the evening of Feb. 17 after deputies responded to a call about a vehicle stuck in a snowbank on Horton Brook Road.

The Colchester Police Department initially responded to the scene and identified Brown using his New York State Driver’s License.

Authorities later discovered an active arrest warrant for Brown issued by the Town of Delhi Court.

The warrant stems from a domestic dispute reported on June 29, 2023, on State Highway 28 in the Town of Delhi.

Following an investigation, deputies applied for the warrant, which was issued on July 13, 2023.

Brown faces charges of aggravated harassment in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, both class A misdemeanors under New York State Penal Law, as well as harassment in the second degree, a violation.

After being taken into custody, Brown was transported to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

He was later transferred to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await centralized arraignment court.
