DERBY — Vermont State Police say that they were notified on Friday of a 66-year-old man found dead inside his Derby home.
According to a statement issued by police, corrections officers from the Probation and Parole office located in Newport went to the residence of Kenneth Heath, as he was under the supervision of the Department of Corrections on furlough status. Upon arrival they discovered Heath deceased.
Heath was convicted of manslaughter for the 2008 killing of his mother Christina Heath, in Canaan, Vermont.
The death investigation is being conducted by the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Authorities say there are no indications that this is a suspicious death, based on Heath’s medical history.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
