BOSTON — Boston police arrested a Roslindale man on multiple firearm and drug charges Tuesday following a surveillance operation in Jamaica Plain.
Jaline Phillips-Young, 31, was taken into custody around 12:15 p.m. Jan. 14 by officers from the District E-5 Drug Control Unit, according to police.
Officers monitoring Roslindale Square for drug activity spotted Phillips-Young, who had an active warrant for armed assault with intent to murder.
They followed him as he boarded a bus toward 3700 Washington Street and later exited near a train station.
Upon stopping Phillips-Young, police found a Glock 19 handgun in his waistband.
The firearm had one round in the chamber, 15 rounds in a magazine capable of holding 31 rounds, and an obliterated serial number.
A search also yielded four plastic bags containing 14 individual bags of crack cocaine, weighing approximately 54.7 grams, and $699 in cash.
Phillips-Young faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a large capacity feeding device; defacement of a firearm serial number; firearm possession in commission of a felony; firearm violation with three prior violent crimes; and trafficking of cocaine over 36 grams.
He is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
