BOSTON — Boston police arrested a 39-year-old Dorchester man Tuesday in connection with a string of break-ins and thefts from businesses across the city.

Derek Ford was apprehended around 4:15 p.m. in the area of Thelma Road as part of an ongoing joint investigation by detectives from multiple districts.

Ford was wanted on two warrants from Dorchester District Court for breaking and entering and larceny charges.

The arrest follows six incidents between Dec. 1, 2024, and Jan. 5, 2025, where businesses in Roxbury and Dorchester reported break-ins, attempted thefts, and stolen cash from ATMs and registers.

On Dec. 1, 2024, officers responded to a break-in at 9 Stoughton Street in Roxbury, where money was stolen from an ATM and cash drawer.

Four incidents occurred in Dorchester:
– Dec. 5, 2024: An ATM targeted at 3 Neponset Avenue
– Dec. 8, 2024: Attempted larceny from an ATM at 55 Hallet Street
– Dec. 28, 2024: Cash stolen from register at 282 Adams Street
– Jan. 5, 2025: Break-in reported at 301 Adams Street, no money stolen
– Jan. 5, 2025: Money stolen from register at 251 Bowdoin Street

Detectives used video evidence to link the same suspect to all six incidents.

Additional criminal complaints are expected to be filed.

Ford is scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
