WINSLOW — A late-night blaze at a Winslow residence on Monday has been deemed an act of arson, according to the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Firefighters were called to a home at 328 Abbott Road at 11:43 p.m. after reports of a fire.
Upon extinguishing the flames, the Winslow Fire Department requested assistance from the Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate the incident.
Fire Investigators arrived at the scene and have concluded that the fire was intentionally set.
The house’s only resident, 40-year-old Joseph Forestell, was taken into protective custody by local police and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
No additional details have been released at this time.
