AUBURN — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in the theft of a used Hyundai sedan and a subsequent hit-and-run crash on Jan. 13.
The male suspect, captured in a surveillance photograph, and an accomplice, who is not pictured, allegedly stole two older model sedans from a local business late Monday evening using a method that involved damaging the vehicles’ ignitions.
One of the stolen vehicles was involved in a crash in a neighboring jurisdiction overnight.
The suspects fled the scene on foot before police could arrive.
