Keene police investigate apparent suicide at Ashuelot River Park

KEENE — On Jan. 14, at approximately 11:57 a.m., Keene Police responded to a call at Ashuelot River Park regarding an unresponsive elderly male with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the individual who was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving attempts by Keene Fire personnel.

The park was closed for around two hours during the investigation but has since been reopened to the public.

The identity of the deceased is currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
