ROCKY HILL — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Silas Deane Highway on Sunday evening, according to local authorities.
Rocky Hill Police responded to emergency calls at approximately 5:20 p.m. reporting the crash near 1864 Silas Deane Highway.
Officers, alongside Rocky Hill Fire Department and Aetna Ambulance personnel, arrived on scene to find a pedestrian who had been hit by a car.
The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene by first responders.
Aetna Ambulance paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where they later died from their injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved was not injured and stayed at the scene to cooperate with police.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with the Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Team taking the lead.
