Fall River police arrest juvenile with loaded handgun

FALL RIVER — A juvenile was arrested Friday after Detective Lauren Fiola and the Community Action & Suppression Team (CAST) found the teen in possession of a loaded firearm, the City of Fall River Police Department reported.

Detectives obtained information suggesting that the 15-year-old, whose identity has not been disclosed due to age, was armed.

The police successfully located the juvenile and seized a Springfield XDS 9mm handgun loaded with five rounds of ammunition.

The minor was taken into custody without incident and faces charges including Carrying a Firearm without a License to Carry (LTC), Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a LTC, and Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm.

The department’s swift response underscores their ongoing commitment to community safety and gun violence prevention.
