RICHMOND — Two men were arrested Saturday afternoon on charges related to forgery and providing false documents to public officials, according to the Rhode Island State Police.
Emil Adrian Gonzalez Monterroso, 23, and Marco Carranza Torres, 26, both residents of 99 Legion Way in Cranston, were taken into custody separately following traffic stops on Kingstown Road.
The arrests occurred at 4 p.m. after troopers conducted the stops and discovered the men had counterfeit registration plates and provided falsified documents.
Both Gonzalez and Carranza were transported to Hope Valley Barracks for processing.
After being arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, each man was released and is expected to appear at a future date in Fourth District Court.
The Rhode Island State Police have not released further details about the arrests.
