SOUTHBRIDGE — A routine traffic stop on Monday night led to the arrest of three individuals, including two adults and one juvenile, on multiple firearm charges, according to the Southbridge Police Department.
At around 9:40 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Cliff and Clark streets.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Malikye Puello Coates of Southbridge, was found to be operating with a suspended license, a revoked vehicle registration, and without insurance.
During the stop, officers discovered a loaded firearm with a large capacity magazine in the vehicle.
An active warrant was also confirmed for one of the passengers, 19-year-old Adrieanna Marie Brown of Worcester.
Puello Coates faces numerous charges, including possession of a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a large capacity firearm, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
His previous record includes two violent crimes: carjacking and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Brown was charged similarly regarding the firearm possession and also for the active arrest warrant.
A 16-year-old juvenile, whose name has not been released due to their age, was also charged with multiple firearm-related offenses.
All three were transported to police headquarters.
Puello Coates’s bail was set at $5,000 cash, while Brown and the juvenile were released on personal recognizance.
They are scheduled for arraignment in Dudley District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
