PROVIDENCE — Law enforcement agencies in Rhode Island conducted a series of arrests on Jan. 8, taking into custody multiple individuals on a range of charges including possession of controlled substances, violation of no contact orders, simple assault, and more.
Kelvin Maldonado, 32, Jose Rivera, 34, Anderson Price, 59, all from Providence, and James Douglas, 56, from North Providence, were arrested by the ACI Investigations Unit for possession of controlled substances with the quantities varying between 10 grams or less and over 10 grams.
They were arraigned in Third Division District Court with bail set at either $1,000 or $3,000 surety.
In a separate incident, Brady Tully, 48, of Coventry, was charged with a violation of a no contact order—his third or subsequent offense.
Tully was also arraigned in Third Division District Court with bail set at $3,000 surety.
Angel Camilo, 24, of Cranston, was charged with simple assault and was granted $1,000 surety bail after his arraignment in Third Division District Court.
The Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Jesse Ohara, 20, of Woonsocket, for possession of child pornography.
Following his arraignment in Sixth District Court, Ohara was released on $2,500 personal recognizance with conditions including no unsupervised contact with minors and limited internet usage.
Moreover, the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, arrested Roger J.
Lavoie, 53, from New Bedford, Massachusetts, for felony larceny and conspiracy.
Lavoie was arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice after being transported to the New Bedford Police Department.
Amina Zaynieva, 21, of Providence, faced charges related to providing false documents and obstructing an officer.
She was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and given a future court date in Third Division District Court.
